The Re-Opening of Indian E-Tourist Visa: All You Need to Know

Opening for group tourism by chartered flights on Oct 15 and opening for individual tourists from Nov 15 on fresh Tourist visa/evisa issued after Oct 06. (2).Use of earlier issued (prior to Oct 06, 2021) Tourist Visa/eVisa is not valid presently.

The long wait is finally over! On 15th October 2021, the Indian government announced that the regular Tourist Visa for International travelers have resumed. Since March 2020, all Indian e-tourist visa were suspended due to the outbreak of COVID. For more than one year, international travelers couldn’t enter India. Now, from 15thOctober 2021, international travelers can apply for an Indian e-tourist visa again on the official government website here.

For group tourism, the visa are now being issued for charted flights. The regular E-Tourist Visa for individuals, will open from 15th November 2021.

The E-Visa Application Process (ETA) : All you need to Know

The process to receive your Indian E-Tourist Visa to India, also known as ETA, is very simple. You don’t require any specific documents or pre-booked flights. You also don’t need the assistance of any third-party agency. Simply, apply online for your visa on the above link.

After filling out your passport details and expected duration of traveling, you have to pay your visa fee (at the moment there is still no fee, after a while it will be around 40 USD for a one-month visa). You will receive a confirmation into your e-mails and the E-Tourist Visa will be issued within a few days (usually 24-74 hours).
